AI Helps Locate Wanted and Missing People in Russia
Street, park, and public-space cameras feed images to neural networks that can instantly identify individuals who are wanted or reported missing.

An artificial intelligence system developed by NtechLab, a technology partner of the Russian state corporation Rostec, is being deployed in Russia’s Stavropol Territory to help locate wanted individuals and missing persons.
The FindFace Multi video analytics system has been integrated into the region’s Safe City platform. It analyzes live video streams from urban surveillance cameras, with the neural network capable of identifying a person of interest with reported accuracy of up to 99.9%.
Spreading Across the Regions
The technology is already being actively used in other parts of Russia, including Krasnodar Territory, Samara Region, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, and Kabardino-Balkaria.
As previously reported, an AI system from NtechLab helped locate more than 40 missing persons in the Arkhangelsk Region, assisted in solving over 300 crimes, and identified more than 1,500 offenders. In Novosibirsk, the company’s video analytics tools have also been used to find more than 120 lost children.
