New Platform Brings Visibility Into Isolated Industrial Networks

An updated cybersecurity system can now collect data from previously inaccessible segments of industrial infrastructure.

Russia has updated its PT ISIM platform for monitoring cybersecurity in industrial facilities. The most sensitive parts of industrial infrastructure, where programmable logic controllers (PLCs) operate, are typically isolated from external networks, preventing standard security tools from accessing them.

As a result, specialists often lacked a complete picture, with parts of the infrastructure remaining outside visibility, leaving vulnerabilities undetected.

Full Visibility

The latest PT ISIM 5.10 update introduces a new module, PT ISIM Collector. It gathers data on equipment even within isolated network segments, including controllers.

The system now collects information on device models, firmware, configurations, and security settings. At the same time, it analyzes traffic and records security-related events, which are then sent to a central system.

The module can retrieve data through one-way communication channels. Information flows outward, but no return access is possible. This architecture is used in critical infrastructure, ensuring that even if external networks are compromised, attackers cannot reach industrial segments through this link.

No Blind Spots

All equipment data is now available in a single interface. Specialists can view which devices are operating, how they are configured, and where deviations from normal parameters occur.

PT ISIM can also track control commands sent to controllers and changes in process parameters. This eliminates blind spots and enables end-to-end visibility across industrial infrastructure, including its most restricted segments.
