Russian Students Build Game Prototypes for National EdTech Platform

In a first-of-its-kind student expedition, young developers designed video game prototypes aimed at teaching digital skills and sparking interest in tech careers

In Bashkortostan, 16 students from across Russia took part in the inaugural interregional expedition 'Bashkortostan: From Games to Technology,' where they developed prototypes for the country’s cyber-physical education platform, 'Berloga'. The teams created two playable concepts designed to introduce young people to emerging technologies and in-demand IT professions.

The prototypes were presented to experts, who joined the students in testing the games and discussing how they could evolve within national acceleration programs.

'Berloga' itself is a federal initiative dedicated to educational game development, backed by the Russian Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the federal government, and the NTI Circle Movement. Today, the platform already counts over 600,000 users across the country and has been showcased at international exhibitions, including in China. In 2024, 'Berloga' began expanding collaborations with student teams, further promoting digital literacy and technology adoption through game-based formats.
