Russian Messenger MAX Steps Up Internal Security
Access to internal infrastructure is now available only via biometric authentication.

Russia is tightening internal security for its national messaging platform MAX, according to the platform’s press service. A new solution called VKey strengthens protection for access to internal infrastructure. Technical staff no longer use passwords and can now log in only via biometric authentication. Access is limited to authorized developers and verified devices. System security is handled by a dedicated module. As MAX emphasized, VKey eliminates the risk of remote interception or credential theft.
Digital Capabilities
The MAX messenger is positioned not just as a communication tool but as a full-scale digital services platform. Users can chat, shop, make transfers, access government services, and use specialized mini-apps and chatbots. More than 85 million people have already registered on MAX.
