table Income Without Risks: Russian Company Launches a New Part-Time Job Platform

Avito, Russia’s leading online marketplace for goods, real estate, jobs, and services, has launched a new platform designed to simplify part-time job searches by guaranteeing proper documentation and secure payments.

Part-Time Work in Just a Few Clicks

Avito introduced the “Avito Part-Time Jobs” platform, now available to residents of Moscow and the Moscow region.

The service allows self-employed workers to quickly find short-term jobs, handle all necessary paperwork, and be sure of receiving timely payment.

The platform had previously rolled out in cities such as St. Petersburg, Kazan, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, and Nizhny Novgorod. As Avito’s managing director Artem Kumpel explained, the company traditionally holds strong positions in Russia’s southern regions, which is why the service first debuted there.

Thousands of Shifts and Guaranteed Pay

The system has some particularities: on iOS devices, the Avito app does not yet support the service, but users can access it through the platform’s mobile site. To use the service, a person must hold self-employed status. Through the mobile app, users can select shifts — about 3,000 in the regions and 900 in Moscow.

Avito verifies applicants’ documents, helps them obtain a medical certificate or self-employment status if necessary, and manages accounting and documentation.

The launch of this service in Moscow directly responds to market needs: people are looking for extra income, businesses need additional hands, and Avito Part-Time Jobs connects both sides, helping them find each other quickly and providing a convenient tool for interaction. The service is already available in more than 20 cities nationwide

Payment is guaranteed: workers receive it within one or two days, transferred to a bank card or through the Faster Payments System (FPS). The payment partner is T-Bank. Arbitration is also available, but, according to the company, it is rarely required (in only 5% of cases).

Zoomers More Than Boomers

Most of those seeking part-time jobs through the service work in retail: couriers, warehouse staff, packers, baristas, or cleaners. There is also demand for typists, call center operators, e-commerce and logistics staff, and freelancers.

Notably, job postings have surged: opportunities paid per shift grew 105% in the past year, while hourly-paid offers rose 75%.

The service primarily appeals to younger users. Among Gen Z (under 24), 24–80% already have experience with part-time work. Around 70% of millennials pursue extra income, while most baby boomers (55+) have little or no experience with part-time jobs.

Transparency as a Key Factor

Transparency and reliability matter most to job seekers, along with detailed information about job offers. For example, the number of part-time job listings for women on maternity leave has increased by 80%, while those for retirees grew by 40%. Today, the platform features 10 million job postings for entry-level and blue-collar professions and 22 million registered active seekers.

Avito’s new service is a convenient way for job seekers to find temporary work without leaving home while still enjoying full guarantees. Employers benefit too, saving time in hiring and being able to quickly cover staffing needs in case of emergencies.

Such services are shaping Russia’s digital gig economy. Similar systems already operate effectively in other countries, including TaskRabbit and UberWorks.

Analysts expect strong demand for the service, especially among young people, students, and workers in retail and logistics. Other companies have also entered this niche in Russia: Yandex launched a platform for students and freelancers with fast payouts, and Ozon rolled out a service for temporary warehouse staff.

If successful in Moscow, “Avito Part-Time Jobs” could expand across other regions, positioning itself as a major player in the national gig economy.
