Convenience and Security: Russia Releases New Version of Astra Monitoring System

Astra Group (Astra Linux) has rolled out a major update to its centralized monitoring platform, Astra Monitoring. More than just an upgrade, the fully Russian-built solution positions itself as a key alternative to Western tools, boosting performance, streamlining processes, and raising the bar for both convenience and security.

More Features, Higher Efficiency

The developer, Astra Group, has launched Astra Monitoring 1.0 with expanded functionality, making it more user-friendly and secure for administrators of complex IT systems.

One standout upgrade is monitoring for databases running on the popular Russian business platform 1C. This gives organizations better performance visibility and reduces maintenance expenses.

The product runs on any operating system, integrates quickly with existing infrastructure, and offers a customizable web interface. Administrators also gain a role-based access control (RBAC) model, which enables fine-tuned management of user rights for resource creation and editing.

This year’s release, in particular, marks a substantial transformation: the platform now offers full-stack observability, uniting logs, metrics, and traces into a single monitoring center. A new “host map” provides real-time system status, while the refreshed user interface improves overall usability. Incident management functions let operations center staff address, comment on, and assign issues, and integration with BI systems simplifies detection and categorization. The result is more transparent and efficient governance across IT infrastructure.

Our team is investing heavily in developing our own monitoring system because such solutions are in strong demand across the market. They help significantly reduce operational risks while deeply integrating and optimizing infrastructure for working with Astra Group’s software stack

Modernization as a Priority

Astra Group is “playing the long game,” gradually refining its platform with every release. Since the solution was first presented to the professional community in 2024, the company has continually transformed it, steadily adding functionality in a market reshaped by the exit of Western vendors.

Version 0.10 introduced the centralized host map, showing the state of an entire IT infrastructure. Update 0.9 brought intelligent log structuring, while version 0.8 added “Monitors” for a consolidated view of all systems through a single dashboard. Version 0.7 delivered log separation into server-side and client-side streams, and 0.6 included full-text search capabilities.

Toward Stability and Digital Independence

The evolution of Astra Monitoring is a critical development for Russia’s IT sector. Comparable to well-known platforms like Zabbix, Astra Monitoring steps in to fill the void left by departing Western vendors.

Targeted at large enterprises and the public sector, the platform allows businesses and government organizations to manage IT resources more effectively and respond quickly to operational changes. The result is greater stability in digital services, fewer outages, and more reliable delivery for citizens. At the same time, Astra Monitoring strengthens the country’s technological sovereignty.

The product also has clear export potential. It could be scaled to countries already using Astra Linux or other Russian software stacks, as well as markets looking for alternatives to Western digital solutions. Interest is likely to grow further thanks to its integration with 1C and official software registry status, reinforcing the global demand for digital sovereignty solutions.
