Laboratory for Future Industrial Engineers Opens in Nizhny Tagil
The Nizhny Tagil Technological Institute of Ural Federal University has opened a laboratory complex for heat engineering and hydraulics, created with support from EVRAZ.

The company invested 5.4 million rubles ($~67,000) to upgrade the institute’s facilities. The laboratory is equipped with training stands for thermodynamics and thermogasodynamics, as well as systems for studying fluid mechanics and gas processes. Digital measurement systems that display pressure, temperature and flow rates will allow students to model processes similar to those found in real-world production.
The project is part of the Engineering Solutions for Modern Production program, which EVRAZ and NTI UrFU have been running since 2022. It includes project-based learning starting in the first year, internships at the company’s facilities, corporate scholarships and employment opportunities for graduates.
