Neural Networks Become Routine in Russia — One in Four Residents Uses Them Monthly
Russia is entering an era in which artificial intelligence becomes an everyday tool: new national data shows that millions of residents now rely on neural networks for study, work, and daily tasks.

AI Adoption Accelerates Across Demographics
According to Mediascope, one in four Russians aged 12 and older now uses standalone AI services at least once a month. This is the first comprehensive study measuring the audience of independent AI platforms, excluding built‑in assistants inside browsers, apps, or search engines.
Researchers note that adoption is driven primarily by younger generations. Monthly engagement reaches 52% among teenagers aged 12–17, while nearly half of adults aged 18–24 rely on neural networks as well. Interest remains steady among middle‑aged users, though at a lower level, and the lowest activity is observed among those over 65. The distribution shows how naturally AI is becoming part of everyday routines for people raised in a digital environment.
Leaders of the Market
The leading services by monthly reach are Alisa AI and DeepSeek, with 14% and 9% of the audience respectively. GigaChat and ChatGPT follow, though each platform demonstrates unique usage patterns. Alisa AI and GigaChat attract a wide demographic range, while DeepSeek, Perplexity, and ChatGPT tend to be more popular among young men.
Yandex reports that the popularity of Alisa AI surged sharply after the updated version was released: the app was downloaded 1.5 million times in its first week.
The growing reach of AI tools indicates that Russians are actively integrating neural networks into academic, professional, and daily workflows.
