Russian Steel Plant Installs Automated Environmental Monitoring System

A major metallurgical plant in Chelyabinsk is deploying a homegrown automated system to track emissions in real time. The technology sends live data directly to regulators, promising greater transparency in industrial ecology.
The Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant has launched a project to install an automated system for monitoring harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The new equipment will transmit real-time data to Rosprirodnadzor, Russia’s environmental watchdog, boosting transparency in ecological oversight, according to pravdaurfo.ru.
The system includes gas analyzers, dust meters, and temperature and humidity sensors installed on smelter shop pipes. All instruments and software are produced domestically.
Installation is being carried out without halting production. The project complies with state standards, and sensor data will be transmitted directly to regulatory authorities.
