Across Russia’s rural regions, telemedicine and artificial intelligence are transforming medical care. These tools are enabling doctors to detect serious conditions like tumors and aneurysms with greater speed and accuracy.

A notable example comes from the Chelyabinsk region, where a shortage of cardiologists once forced patients from remote areas to travel long distances and wait for hours in line. Today, regional cardiology clinics can join consultations online, working together with local healthcare workers to examine patients and offer treatment plans. AI is used during the process to identify potentially life-threatening pathologies.

Russia has also introduced a new neural network designed to spot early health anomalies. Especially effective in detecting lung diseases, this AI system will be rolled out widely across regional medical facilities.
