Russia Is Set to Automate Construction Waste Removal With AI
Authorities plan to build a transparent, end-to-end system for managing construction waste.

In St. Petersburg, artificial intelligence is being used to systematize and automate oversight of construction waste removal, the city’s vice governor Alexey Korabelnikov said at a press conference hosted by TASS.
“We need to build a civilized system that provides full control over the movement of construction waste, from where it is generated to where it is recycled or disposed of,” the official said.
He added that the city administration will continue working on systematization and automated oversight through information systems, including the use of artificial intelligence.
Routes Are Already Being Tracked
According to the vice governor, routes used by vehicles transporting construction waste are already being monitored via the city’s safe city camera network.
“Our task is to ensure that this waste clearly reaches the sites that will be designated by us together with colleagues from the Leningrad region, where it will be processed, because it contains useful fractions that can be brought back into circulation,” Korabelnikov added.
