Russian educators have unveiled a free, nationwide program to teach students AI fundamentals, machine learning, and multiple programming languages—aiming to train at least 75,000 learners in 2025 and set a new standard in data‑driven education

Building an AI‑Ready Generation

Under the banner “Code of the Future: Artificial Intelligence,” experts from leading Russian institutions are introducing schoolchildren and university students to the core principles of AI. Participants gain hands‑on experience in machine learning, as well as programming in Python, 1C, Java, JavaScript, and other languages. Supported by the National Data Economy Project, this six‑course curriculum draws on top educational platforms to ensure both depth and accessibility.

Immersive Industry Experience with IT Camp T1

Complementing the classroom offering, the IT Camp “T1” immerses technical majors in real‑world projects. Through a summer intensive, students choose from five tracks—frontend development, backend development, testing, analytics, and administration—and collaborate on live assignments. This model bridges academic learning and industry practice, equipping young professionals with the skills and confidence to navigate Russia’s rapidly evolving tech sector.

Analytic Insights and Societal Impact

By 2025, the initiative aims to empower at least 75,000 participants nationwide. Early surveys indicate strong demand beyond the student demographic: 74 percent of adult respondents express a desire to acquire AI and neural‑network skills within two years, and 41 percent of initially hesitant adults acknowledge the necessity of AI competence in today’s economy. These figures underscore both the program’s relevance and its potential to reduce skills gaps, drive innovation, and bolster Russia’s—and by extension, global—leadership in data‑driven industries.
