Russia’s Engineering Schools Use AI to Train the Next Tech Leaders

At Moscow Polytechnic, a new school for technological leadership is integrating artificial intelligence into engineering education. The goal: faster development cycles and globally competitive talent.

Moscow Polytechnic has launched a new engineering school focused on technological leadership, where students are learning advanced digital design using AI-powered tools. In the global automotive industry, developing a new platform typically takes 7 to 10 years—but AI is helping to drastically shorten that timeline.

During a recent campus visit, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Andrey Omelchuk, was briefed on how the university’s graduates are already equipped with the digital modeling skills required by modern industry. These skills significantly reduce onboarding time and give Russian tech a competitive edge.

One success story is the FDR12 hybrid sport prototype, 70 percent of which is made with Russian-manufactured components. The vehicle includes an innovative hybrid power unit and composite bodywork—both developed at the university.

With its strong focus on AI and industrial applications, Moscow Polytechnic is positioning itself as a top-tier training ground for the engineers of the future.
