Russian Regions Are Expanding the Use of Drones

Several educational institutions in the Tambov Region are training UAV operators.

In 2025, Russian regions began actively deploying unmanned aerial vehicles across a wide range of tasks – from monitoring agricultural land to searching for missing people. As Tambov Region Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov told TASS in an interview, the sector is a strategic priority for the region, with a solid foundation already in place.

For example, educational institutions are being equipped with specialized hardware to train personnel.

“Drones are already being widely used in forestry, and the creation of a flight testing center at the aviation college in Kirsanov is now in its final stage,” the regional governor said.

Growing Demand for Drone Services

At the same time, the region is focusing on systemic solutions for UAV deployment.

“We are shaping demand for drone services across all sectors of the economy and simplifying the procedure for obtaining flight permits in digital form at the municipal level. Our goal is not only to build the necessary infrastructure, but to create comfortable conditions in the region for the full-scale development of unmanned aviation,” the Tambov Region governor noted.
