Russian Scientists Develop Neural Network for Precise Veterinary Diagnostics

AI System Decodes Biochemical Blood Tests for Cattle with High Accuracy

A graduate researcher at the Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University, Lyudmila Feoktistova, has developed a neural network designed to revolutionize veterinary diagnostics. Her project — “An Automated AI Service for Expert Interpretation of Biochemical Blood Tests in Cattle” — applies artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze laboratory data, providing fast, accurate, and data-driven veterinary assessments.

The system interprets complex biochemical indicators in seconds, helping veterinarians make more reliable diagnoses and generate tailored recommendations for herd management.

Neural Networks Take Charge of Herd Health

Feoktistova explained that automation helps minimize human error, which often leads to mistakes in diagnosing animal health issues. By improving diagnostic accuracy, the system can reduce economic losses across the livestock industry.

Her innovation earned top honors at the national program “AI 4:0: How Neural Networks Simplify Life”, hosted at the Senezh Management Workshop, where her project was recognized as the best among 295 entries.

The AI-powered service marks a major milestone in the digital transformation of Russian agriculture, where neural networks are increasingly used to monitor livestock health, conduct remote examinations, and design optimal feeding programs — bringing data intelligence directly into the barnyard.
