Russian Students Learn Digital Literacy Through Interactive Lessons

Across Russia, digital education has evolved into a nationwide system that teaches students essential online skills and prepares them for the tech-driven economy.

In the Kirov region, students recently took part in interactive digital literacy lessons under the 'Digital ABC' program, part of Russia’s national project 'Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State.' During the sessions, students attended lectures and completed real-time exercises designed to strengthen their practical skills.

Alexey Sukhikh, Minister of Information Technology and Communications of the Kirov Region, highlighted the growing demand for careers in programming, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Students can learn modern programming languages for free through the 'Code of the Future' initiative on the national Gosuslugi platform. This year, courses focused on AI have become especially popular.

Digital education in Russian schools has transformed into a coordinated national effort that reaches every region. The 'Digital ABC' project aims to boost digital literacy and promote online safety. Using animated videos and quizzes, students learn how to recognize scams, protect personal data, and combat cyberbullying.

Another major initiative, 'Lesson of Numbers,' introduces students to IT professions through interactive games. The first lesson of the new season, titled 'AI Agents' and developed by Sberbank’s 'Contribution to the Future' foundation, has already reached more than 1.5 million students across Russia and neighboring countries.
