Russia’s Power Grid Giant Goes Almost Fully Domestic on Software
The country’s largest energy network operator has replaced more than 90% of its digital infrastructure with homegrown software — a key milestone in Russia’s technological independence drive.

Rosseti, one of the world’s biggest electric grid companies, has transitioned almost entirely to Russian-made software, reaching over 90% localization, according to Konstantin Kravchenko, Deputy CEO for Digital Transformation. Kravchenko discussed the transition during Russian Energy Week, describing it as a critical step toward digital sovereignty in the energy sector.
Building a Unified Digital Architecture
To coordinate this shift, Rosseti launched a Testing Center for Domestic Solutions in partnership with Rosseti Tsifra (Rosseti Digital) and the Intelligent Digital Grid Laboratory. The new facility evaluates the quality, reliability, and compatibility of Russian software and hardware products used across the company’s network.
Kravchenko emphasized the need for a single IT architecture to integrate all corporate systems. A long-term roadmap for full migration to Russian platforms has been approved through 2030, with the current focus on identifying a domestic ERP system to manage business and financial operations.
