AI Mentor Trains Young Telecom Staff in Russia

A new virtual assistant dubbed the 'Everyday Hero' is helping thousands of entry-level telecom employees in Russia develop their skills and boost performance.

Over 3,000 newly hired telecom office employees across Russia are being trained by an AI-based virtual mentor through a mobile app. The system offers personalized coaching, functioning both as a performance tracker and a supportive digital colleague.

Nicknamed the 'Everyday Hero,' the assistant gives employees daily feedback and goal-setting sessions. Each shift begins with a short briefing, reviewing strengths and weaknesses from the previous day and laying out new objectives. Soon, the system will include a conversation simulator to help staff rehearse sales scenarios and practice pitching new products.

The assistant not only helps improve key performance indicators (KPIs), but also teaches staff how to make better decisions for customers—enhancing both service quality and employee growth.

Statistically, more than half of Russia’s telecom retail staff are between the ages of 18 and 24, often in their first-ever job. This digital-native generation finds it easier to train in mobile environments and is highly responsive to AI-based guidance. Developers took care to design the assistant as both a learning tool and a motivator, blending high-tech features with a human touch.
