AI Moves to 24/7 Oversight of Publicly Funded Construction Projects
Russia’s Federal Treasury has deployed continuous monitoring of capital construction projects using artificial intelligence, meaning construction sites are now overseen not only by site managers but also by algorithms.
The agency has implemented the domestic platform Qmonitoring for video analytics at sites funded through the federal budget under national projects. The system analyzes live video feeds from construction sites in real time and automatically flags those that fall into a risk zone. Particular attention is given to social infrastructure – including schools, hospitals and other projects deemed critical for the public.
According to the Treasury, integrating AI into the monitoring system marks another step toward more efficient and transparent management of public funds.
The Treasury operates the state system Upravlenie (Management system), a key tool used to track the implementation of national projects. Officials say digitizing oversight improves both the speed and quality of decision-making, and that the Qmonitoring platform has already completed its initial deployment phase.
