The Amur Gas Chemical Complex operated by SIBUR has launched a digital simulator for boiler house operators, the company’s press service said.

The system models a range of production scenarios, including emergency situations, while an autopilot mode enables team training even with reduced staffing. Field personnel can practice hands-on procedures with the same equipment they will use in real-world operations.

Two More Simulators Planned

A computer-based training system has already been installed for boiler operators at the plant’s utility facilities. A simulator for wastewater treatment systems is set to launch in the summer, followed by one for polypropylene production in September. After the Amur Gas Chemical Complex is fully operational, all simulators will be fine-tuned using real production data.

Earlier, the Tyumen Center for Additional Professional Education developed engineering simulators for training oil and gas specialists. The Virtual Field system consists of eight simulators covering all types of cluster well equipment. The production company Samotlorneftegaz is actively deploying domestic VR simulators at its training center, where employees learn workflows in conditions close to real industrial environments.
