Innovation Hub to Help Russian Entrepreneurs and Scientists Work in China
In Beijing, Russian company Innopraktika has opened an innovation hub designed to promote joint research between Russia and China. The hub will stimulate projects in artificial intelligence, new materials, biotechnology, and energy.

Helping Enter the Chinese Market
Innopraktika, a private development institute, together with the Russian-Chinese Research Center for the Digital Economy, signed a bilateral agreement on strategic partnership at the BRICS Partnership Forum for the New Industrial Revolution. Under this agreement, an innovation hub was launched in Beijing to promote Russian technologies and expand bilateral scientific and technical cooperation.
According to Innopraktika representatives, the hub will represent the company’s interests in China, help integrate Russian scientific and technological achievements into the global innovation ecosystem, and coordinate scientific dialogue between the two countries.

The site’s staff will consult Russian companies entering China’s high-tech markets, support joint research and business events, and create an information platform for project presentations and partner searches.
The center’s work will also focus on building partnerships with international distributors and suppliers, guided by analysis of technology business needs and development trends in China.
Guaranteeing Participation in Global Projects
For Russia, opening this hub in China is not just another large-scale, high-tech project. Establishing its own platform in Beijing enhances Russia’s scientific presence abroad and strengthens the position of Russian innovations in international cooperation.

Through the hub, more Russian companies and startups will be able to participate in cross-border projects, attract investment flows, and create new jobs. The cooperation between Russia and China highlights the trend toward forming alternative centers of scientific and technological development, independent of Western platforms.
The innovation center also addresses several practical goals: Russian technologies will gain entry to the Chinese market, while knowledge exchange between research centers in both countries will accelerate the introduction of new solutions in industry and education inside Russia.
Moving in the Same Direction
The innovation hub underscores the growing convergence between Russia and China, from shaping new strategies for technological development to establishing fresh forms of scientific and technical collaboration.
China had earlier opened several joint laboratories with Russia focused on new materials and digital technologies. In 2023, a Russian-Chinese Cooperation Center was launched at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), where scientists from both nations are working on joint educational and research projects. In 2025, during President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China, the two countries signed 22 cooperation agreements.

In the long run, the Beijing hub will anchor Russia-China partnerships in science and technology at a systemic level and contribute to building an “eastern technology bloc,” with Russia positioned as a key player in scientific diplomacy.
