Russian university instructors will learn to work with artificial intelligence as Yandex launches a new national program backed by a $5.1 million investment

Russian university faculty will receive training in artificial intelligence technologies through a new program launched by Yandex. The digital company will teach educators how to use AI in teaching, research, and administrative tasks. For early‑career instructors, the initiative includes a dedicated course on structuring lessons, communicating with students, developing class plans, and updating learning materials with the help of AI.
For researchers and academic advisors, the program offers a specialized course on academic work. Yandex experts will explain where AI can be applied in scientific activities, how to detect AI‑generated content in research papers, and in which tasks neural networks can automate routine workloads.
More Than One Hundred Educational Developments
Administrators will learn how to build large‑scale educational programs using digital tools. According to Kirill Barannikov, Head of Strategic Development for Higher Education at Yandex Education, universities today need a well‑structured competency development system.
Over the past several years, Yandex has developed more than 100 educational programs, one‑third of which focus on artificial intelligence technologies.
