Russian Students Learn to Build AI Agents
A new nationwide program is teaching students how digital assistants work—and how to design them safely and effectively.

In Novosibirsk, a specialized IT high school has hosted an open lesson on 'AI Agents,' marking the launch of a new season of Russia’s federal tech education initiative. The class introduced students to how artificial intelligence powers modern services—from food delivery and navigation to scientific research—and explained the architecture of AI-based assistants. Students also learned basic design principles and safe, responsible ways to use AI tools.
The program, part of the broader 'Lesson of Numbers' initiative, aims to strengthen digital literacy and inspire students to pursue technology-related careers. Upcoming sessions will focus on video platforms, cybersecurity, big data, and quantum technologies.
Last year, more than 420,000 students, teachers, and parents across the Novosibirsk region took part in in-person and online lessons. The content is designed for all ages, making it accessible to both children and adults.
