Kaspersky Launches Cybersecurity Career Pathway Platform

Clear Navigation for Cyber Roles

On December 1, 2025, Kaspersky announced the launch of Cyber Pathways, an online project offering structured information about key cybersecurity specializations. The initiative helps both beginners and experienced professionals understand industry roles, required skills, and possible career trajectories.

The platform includes tools for navigating core security domains such as cyber intelligence, monitoring, network security, and malware analysis. A built-in assessment system allows users—ranging from individuals to organizations—to evaluate their competencies and receive recommendations for suitable career directions.

The project also provides curated educational guidance, including links to specialized training programs. Access is free and requires no registration. As cyberthreats intensify and the shortage of qualified specialists becomes more severe, such resources are critical for building cybersecurity workforce capacity.

Integrating Cybersecurity Education

Cyber Pathways plays a strategic role in strengthening Russia’s cybersecurity labor market. It structures job roles, clarifies learning pathways, and increases visibility for cybersecurity careers among youth. The platform can also be used by schools, universities, and corporate teams to plan training programs and develop internal security divisions.

Given Kaspersky’s international footprint, the project can be adapted for global markets facing similar talent gaps. It also helps standardize skill requirements, enabling companies across sectors to more effectively recruit and train security professionals.

Expanding the Audience Through Training Tools

Kaspersky has a long history of educational initiatives. In 2019, the company launched the Automated Security Awareness Platform (ASAP), which trains employees in secure digital practices using a progressive learning model.

From 2021 to 2023, global research explored VR and AR applications in cybersecurity training—interactive labs, scenario-based simulations, and adaptive learning environments—highlighting the demand for scalable, immersive training capabilities.

In winter 2024, Kaspersky contributed educational materials to the national “Digital Lesson” program. Students engaged with interactive exercises set in a fictional 2050 simulation, helping broaden cybersecurity awareness from an early age.

In September 2025, Kaspersky launched the free online course Enter_IT, designed for students from grades 8–11 and early college years. The program introduces learners to careers in IT and cybersecurity, reflecting increasing interest in technology education among young people.

Building a Talent Pipeline

Cyber Pathways is a timely strategic tool for overcoming talent shortages amid rising digitalization and cyber risks. By pairing the platform with courses and certifications, Kaspersky can create a sustainable pipeline of new specialists. The project’s model also carries export potential, strengthening Kaspersky’s global brand and contributing to international cybersecurity capacity.

In the long term, the platform may stimulate new certification standards, encourage universities to create updated curricula, and support workforce development for critical infrastructure, government agencies, and private industry.
