Students at the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies have created a virtual dinosaur museum. The team shared details of the project with the media, saying they wanted to use modern technologies to show what life on Earth was like long before humans appeared.

Using the VK Play platform, the students have “brought to life” dinosaurs, mammoths, woolly rhinoceroses, and other ancient creatures. The animals are presented as museum exhibits, complete with detailed descriptions and shown in their natural habitats, creating a strong sense of presence.

Digital Tools for History

According to project author Konstantin Kaygorodov, the platform is expected to be connected to a neural headset in the future, making the study of history even more visual and engaging. New content is being added, and additional halls will soon appear in the virtual museum.

Russia is increasingly using digital technologies to preserve history and recreate lost heritage. Rock art and ancient epics are being transferred into virtual formats, while the historical appearance of cities is being reconstructed, including with the help of neural networks.
