Russian company Sisort will be among the exhibitors at YugAgro, an agricultural trade show taking place in Krasnodar from November 17 to 20. The company plans to showcase a range of its latest developments, including an eight-chute optical sorter from its new Darwin series. The machine is designed primarily to remove sclerotia from sunflower seeds. This contaminant can render entire batches of product unusable, and until recently, removing it effectively was extremely difficult.

The results are made possible by a deep learning system integrated into the machine. Instead of relying on a few dozen conventional parameters, such as color and size, the algorithm analyzes thousands of defect characteristics. This allows the sorter to remove impurities that are difficult to distinguish visually from sound seed material.

Visitors to the exhibition will also have an opportunity to test the new machine. They can bring samples of their own products and run them through the optical sorter right at the company’s booth.
