Beeline Shifts to In-House Corporate Messenger Buzz
Russia’s telecom operator Beeline has migrated internal communications to its own corporate messenger, Buzz, built on the eXpress platform and designed to meet stringent information security requirements. The move reflects a broader market shift toward secure, deeply integrated enterprise messaging systems that reduce exposure to external platforms.

Rising Demand for Enterprise Messaging Platforms
Among Russia’s largest corporations, a sustained trend has emerged toward moving employee communications into dedicated corporate messengers. The shift is not merely about consolidating chat tools. It standardizes workflows across departments while strengthening information security controls and compliance oversight.
Earlier this week, telecom operator Beeline announced the rollout of Buzz, its internal corporate messenger. Buzz is built on the software foundation of the eXpress platform. Beyond secure messaging, the tool is tightly integrated with Beeline’s infrastructure and internal IT systems, positioning it as a core communications layer rather than a standalone application.
Originally, the corporate messenger was developed for external enterprise customers. Beeline has now deployed a comparable solution for internal use, effectively adopting its own enterprise-grade communications stack.
Why eXpress?
The choice of eXpress as the foundation for Buzz was strategic. The platform has established a reputation as a reliable and mature enterprise product, ranking highly in industry evaluations for several consecutive years. Its adoption aligns with Beeline’s broader strategy of integrating leading domestic software solutions into its digital ecosystem.

Buzz is fully embedded within the company’s internal digital infrastructure perimeter. The application has been deployed in the corporate environment of PJSC VimpelCom, operating under the Beeline brand, with attention to scalability, fault tolerance and seamless integration with existing IT services and business processes. This deployment created a unified communications space across the organization’s entire structure.
During implementation, particular emphasis was placed on information security. Buzz provides full control over data flows and ensures that data storage remains within Russia. The eXpress platform complies with national regulatory requirements and supports integration with DLP systems – Data Leak Prevention – SIEM systems – Security Information and Event Management – and internal monitoring tools. This architecture enables rapid incident response and reduces the risk of data leakage.

From Messenger to Super App
“Within Buzz, we plan to consolidate all key elements of internal communications, from core messenger and chat functionality to a unified corporate information space and employee self-service portals. This will make work and collaboration across Beeline genuinely convenient and efficient. By launching Buzz, we are consciously choosing to rely on our own solutions for our internal needs. It is a matter of trust in the technologies we develop and confidence in their reliability, usability and security,” said Sergey Anokhin, CEO of PJSC VimpelCom.
The statement signals an ambition to evolve Buzz into a broader enterprise super app that centralizes communication, information exchange and internal services within a single secure environment.
Reliable Tools for Enterprise
Russian technology vendors today offer corporate clients a wide range of import-independent enterprise solutions. Last autumn, it was announced that all business solutions from Yandex 360 would be consolidated into a single platform, simplifying service management for enterprise customers.
Cloud-based AI-powered collaboration platforms are also gaining traction. IVA 360 has emerged as a domestic alternative to Microsoft Teams, providing companies with a resilient communications service designed to withstand geopolitical disruptions and sanctions-related risks. In practice, domestic software solutions have demonstrated competitive efficiency and have contributed to productivity gains across multiple sectors.

Against this backdrop, the deployment of Buzz underscores the maturity of Russia’s corporate communications stack. These platforms are no longer framed solely as replacements for Western products. Vendors are positioning them as feature-rich ecosystems that expand enterprise capabilities while insulating businesses from external restrictions imposed by foreign providers.
