Moscow to Discuss the Future of Smart Cities at Four Global Digital Forum Sessions
The Moscow Department of Information Technology will hold four sessions at the II Global Digital Forum on Oct. 8–10 at the Mechta venue in Gorky Park. Participants will discuss how technology is changing urban environments and everyday life.
One session will focus on changes in familiar patterns of behavior among city residents. At the “Pass the Fare” / “I’m Just Asking,” or What We’ve Forgotten in the Age of Technology session, participants will discuss which traditional urban-life scenarios are being displaced by digital services and whether they can retain an element of face-to-face interaction.
Another discussion will focus on artificial intelligence. Experts will examine how AI assistants are being used in urban environments, what impact these solutions have, and what is needed to scale them further.
Participants will also discuss how to measure the quality of a smart city. Topics will include people-centered metrics and residents’ participation in setting standards for urban development.
The program will conclude with a discussion of digital twins. The session will cover their use in territorial and transportation planning, environmental monitoring, and modeling future changes in the city.
The forum is supported by the Russian government, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Moscow government is the general partner.
