Rosenergoatom Switches to a Russian-Made Power Sales Management System

Rosenergoatom Concern, which operates Russia’s nuclear power plants and produces both electricity and heat, has commissioned a domestic information and analytics system designed to support management decision-making and efficient participation in the wholesale electricity and capacity market. The digital solution ensures full independence of power trading and sales processes from foreign software products.

A Russian Platform at the Core

Rosenergoatom has put into permanent operation a Russian-built information and analytics system that supports management decision-making and efficient activity on the wholesale electricity and capacity market. From now on, all of the company’s transactions and commercial operations in energy trading will be conducted through this platform. According to the company’s press service, the system is based on the Russian EMAS.TRADE platform developed by National Informatization Bureau JSC. Its key advantage lies in full compliance with existing wholesale market rules and deep integration with Rosenergoatom’s core corporate information systems.

The information and analytics system covers the entire operational cycle – from collecting and analyzing data received from authorized market infrastructure organizations to the automated preparation and submission of price bids, dispatch coordination, and the generation of management reports. The company plans to extend this functionality across all Rosenergoatom nuclear power plants operating on the wholesale electricity and capacity market.

A Logical Step in Import Substitution

Company representatives note that the system’s main strength is its deep integration with the corporate IT solutions already used across the group – from generation accounting systems to financial planning tools. This integration has eliminated gaps between operational and management data. In addition, the EMAS.TRADE platform provides flexible reporting instruments, ranging from standardized market forms to situational analytical dashboards. These tools support in-depth data analysis and can be adapted in real time to the needs of any management level.

Rosatom is consistently building an ecosystem of domestic industrial software that will allow Russian industry to achieve technological independence in critical areas. Our main focus is not on individual programs, but on a unified digital ecosystem. By bringing together leading industry specialists, we have formed a comprehensive set of import-substituting solutions for the nuclear sector, including PLM systems, CAE tools, and BIM technologies. We are not stopping at what has been achieved – we are actively scaling these solutions across various industries and, at the same time, offering proven technologies to international partners

The implementation project was carried out as part of Russia’s state import substitution program. It demonstrates the readiness of domestic developers to deliver high-tech solutions for critical sectors of the economy. The upgrade to Rosenergoatom’s sales system is not simply a replacement of foreign software, but part of a unified information environment for analyzing energy markets and building reporting frameworks. This strategy enables faster management decisions aimed at improving margins and operational efficiency in the wholesale market.

Improving Management Efficiency

The adoption of the new IT product by one of Russia’s largest power generation companies accelerates the digitalization of participation in wholesale electricity and capacity trading. It improves asset management efficiency while reducing reliance on foreign software and exposure to sanctions-related constraints. Implemented under the import substitution program, the project clearly demonstrates the ability of Russian developers to deliver mission-critical digital solutions for the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Looking ahead, the system can be scaled across all of the group’s nuclear power plants and integrated with other digital solutions within Rosatom and its energy division to create a unified analytics environment. While the platform is currently tailored to the Russian market, its architecture and functionality could be adapted to the regulatory frameworks and requirements of other energy markets, including those in the CIS or BRICS countries.
