The Rosel holding, part of state corporation Rostec, has unveiled an ultra-rugged tablet known as PK-S, designed for communications equipment and industrial systems.

Thanks to its moisture protection, the tablet can operate in extreme conditions, including temperatures from −20°C to +50°C, relative humidity of up to 98%, and reduced atmospheric pressure.

The PK-S runs on the Russian operating system Astra Linux, is equipped with four USB 2.0 ports, and includes 8 GB of RAM. An integrated ECC module automatically detects and corrects memory errors.

Broad Range of Applications

“Developing our own tablet computer ensures full independence from external suppliers in manufacturing. The PK-S has strong commercial potential because it can be customized to meet specific customer requirements,” said Anton Balitsky, chief executive of the Signal enterprise.

The device was developed by Signal, a company within the Rosel holding. The tablet can be used as an input-output interface in automotive manufacturing, for equipping industrial machine tools, and in data transmission and processing systems, including those handling encrypted information. The PK-S is currently undergoing active testing.
