Russian Biometric Tech Attracts Interest Abroad
Russia’s Center for Biometric Technologies says it has competitive solutions ready for international markets, with foreign partners showing growing interest.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Vladislav Povolotsky, head of the Center for Biometric Technologies, said overseas partners are already eyeing Russian biometric solutions. According to him, the center has established the necessary business processes and built a portfolio of services. Cooperation with allied countries is now underway through the institute of “digital attachés.”
Povolotsky described the program as a crucial government initiative that “helps promote Russian IT products in foreign markets.”
Earlier, he also highlighted the launch of the “Start Business Online” service. Using biometric authentication, Russians can now establish a legal entity without visiting a tax office. The entire registration process—including government checks—takes up to four hours and is carried out fully through a mobile app.
