Edenex Launches Global Trade Finance Marketplace

The platform provides legal ring-fencing of assets for each transaction and accounts for sanctions restrictions when working with international partners.

Technology company Edenex has begun operating as an institutional marketplace for trade finance. Each transaction is structured through a separate special-purpose vehicle (SPV), taking the receivable off the exporter's balance sheet and protecting the asset if a counterparty becomes insolvent. The structure is particularly important given volatility among trading partners.

The platform was launched in response to frozen foreign assets, increasingly complex cross-border payments, and the declining usefulness of foreign-currency accounts as a way to protect capital. Existing financing options can take two to three weeks for approval, a critical delay for export contracts, driving demand toward faster, automated processes.

The platform supports BRICS currency corridors and is tailored to the structure of Russian exports, particularly metals, agriculture, and machinery. Edenex has also launched Edenex Digital Financing & Trade, a module that automates the entire transaction cycle, from contract verification to execution through smart contracts. The company plans to integrate the platform with BRICS systems to enable the tokenization of commodity flows.
