ERA-GLONASS transmitted more than 8,000 emergency alerts related to road accidents to rescue services during April, company representatives said. According to the operator, the figure was 10% higher than in April 2025.

Alexey Raykevich, CEO of AO GLONASS, said about 6,700 emergency alerts were sent automatically through SOS systems installed in vehicles. The incidents involved cases in which drivers or passengers were unable to call for help on their own, making the automated system critical to rescue efforts.

Raykevich added that ERA-GLONASS has transmitted more than 580,000 emergency crash alerts to rescue services since launch. About 80% of those alerts were sent automatically during severe accidents in which drivers and passengers could not independently contact emergency responders.

As of early April, about 13.5 million vehicles in Russia were connected to the country’s automated crash notification system.
