Russia Has Accelerated the Blocking of Fraudulent Websites
Russia has accelerated the blocking of fraudulent websites by creating a direct response mechanism between domain registrars and cybersecurity services, allowing rapid takedown of phishing and malware resources

Russia has introduced a faster and more coordinated system for removing malicious websites from the .RU and .РФ domain zones. Positive Technologies, a leading Russian cybersecurity developer, and the Coordination Center for the .RU/.РФ domains have signed an agreement that enables the company to submit direct takedown requests for harmful websites.
Previously, Positive Technologies monitored the internet, detected phishing and malware resources, and published threat lists. Under the new framework, the company can immediately request domain registrars to block malicious sites, significantly shortening the reaction time.
Protecting Millions of Users
Company data supports the need for faster intervention. Over the last four years, the number of phishing websites in the .RU domain zone has decreased by 25 percent. But the number of domains distributing malware has nearly quadrupled, according to Positive Technologies.
Phishing remains one of the most widespread tools used by cybercriminals to steal personal data and financial assets. The new direct-response mechanism strengthens national cybersecurity by allowing threats to be neutralized before they escalate and cause large-scale damage.
