Russia Opens a Fully Robotic Dairy Farm

An ambitious agricultural project in the Saratov region showcases how automation is reshaping livestock production in Russia.
In Russia’s Saratov region, agriculture just took a futuristic turn. Local agribusiness Agros has launched a state-of-the-art robotic dairy farm, a project made possible with government support. The facility currently manages more than 400 head of cattle, including 256 dairy cows, with plans to expand the herd to 1,000. Every stage of milk production is now guided by automation.
But the company’s ambitions go beyond dairy. Agros is already planning a large-scale sheep farm and a cheese production facility.
Industry analysts note that the move signals a broader trend: robotic systems and diversified production are helping Russian agribusinesses increase efficiency, reduce reliance on manual labor, and expand into new markets at home and abroad.
