Russian IT Firms Gain Ground in the Balkans
Digital taxi and retail platforms from Russia are expanding their footprint in Serbia.

Russian digital services for ride-hailing and retail are steadily expanding in the Serbian market, according to Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development following a visit by Minister Maxim Reshetnikov to Belgrade. Russian companies are participating in joint digital technology projects and increasing their presence in the country.
Ride-Hailing Services Gain Traction
Ride-hailing platforms are attracting a growing user base, with customers favoring their ease of use and intuitive interfaces. Services are being adapted to local conditions and market requirements.
At the same time, digital tools in the retail sector are also expanding, with Russian solutions gradually securing a foothold in the market.
Railways Go Digital
Serbia continues to build a centralized train traffic management center, financed through an export credit. The system will enable real-time monitoring of train movements and more precise adherence to schedules.
Officials at the Ministry of Economic Development say Belgrade’s policies support mutually beneficial cooperation, creating new opportunities for Russian IT companies.
Serbia is emerging as a key growth market for the export of Russian digital services.
