Russian Students to Study With AI as Universities Expand Curriculum
Tomsk State University rolls out AI module across 51 academic programs

Students at Tomsk State University will study artificial intelligence as part of their coursework, as the university introduces a universal AI and data analysis module across 51 programs spanning 14 faculties and institutes, the university’s press service said.
The module is designed as a flexible knowledge package that can be adapted to different fields of study. Lectures and practical sessions will be available online, while project work will be defended in person.
AI-Driven Approach
According to Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Evgeny Lukov, proficiency in AI and big data analysis is becoming essential for the next generation of specialists.
Earlier, TSU specialists, together with colleagues from Kazan, developed a program titled “AI in Petrochemistry.”
