AI Use in Travel Planning Triples Among Russians in 2025

AI assistants are increasingly becoming essential travel companions in Russia, with travelers using neural networks primarily to search for tickets and plan itineraries.
Since January 2025, the use of artificial intelligence for trip planning in Russia has tripled, according to data from 'Gazeta.Ru'.
An analysis of user interactions with Jarvel, the AI assistant developed by the Russian travel platform Tutu, reveals that 20 percent of requests relate to transport logistics—most often involving ticket searches, optimal routing, and schedules for trains and buses.
Another 10 percent of users turn to AI to choose travel destinations, while 7 percent rely on algorithms to plan everything from spontaneous getaways to long-haul vacations.
Seasonal fluctuations also play a role: demand for rental housing spikes around holidays and vacation periods, accounting for 3 percent of total AI interactions. Meanwhile, 66 percent of travelers prefer to send their finalized itineraries through messaging apps.
Six percent of users use AI to enhance trip safety or to find local entertainment options at their destination.
Experts note that Russian travelers are increasingly blending digital tools with traditional trip planning. This hybrid approach allows users to customize itineraries to their preferences while saving time on tedious tasks like comparing flights or browsing hotel options. The technology proves especially valuable in situations requiring quick changes, such as flight cancellations or other unforeseen disruptions.
