Russian Media Giant Deploys Homegrown Cybersecurity Platform to Shield Digital Assets ‎

STS Media rolls out CICADA8 ETM, a comprehensive security suite designed to fend off cyberattacks, detect data leaks, and safeguard its brand reputation in an increasingly hostile digital landscape.

Russian media holding STS Media has completed the deployment of CICADA8 ETM, a domestic cybersecurity platform built to protect the company’s digital assets from hacking attempts and reputational risks. The integrated solution monitors infrastructure, identifies vulnerabilities, and tracks potential threats in real time — an increasingly vital measure as popular TV channels remain high-profile targets for cybercriminals.

‎Maxim Naumov, STS Media’s cybersecurity director, called the platform a strategic investment. According to Naumov, the system not only lightens the workload on the company’s security team but also enables proactive protection of the media group’s reputation in the digital space.

‎The service includes annual penetration testing, allowing the company to assess its security posture and plan IT infrastructure upgrades. CICADA8 ETM also scans for phishing attacks, data breaches, and negative publications that could harm the brand.

‎Sergey Kolesnikov, product portfolio director at CICADA8, emphasized the growing importance of such tools:

“Comprehensive cybersecurity solutions are critical for protecting a company’s digital assets,”

he said.

‎The rollout of CICADA8 ETM highlights a broader trend among Russian companies toward adopting local cybersecurity technologies to strengthen data defenses. Investments in these solutions not only reduce the risk of cyberattacks and information leaks but also help build trust among partners, viewers, and clients. Platforms like CICADA8 ETM are shaping a new culture of digital security and setting the course for the entire media industry.
