Russia’s AI 'Digital Foreman' Monitors Construction Sites Around the Clock

A neural network-powered system is keeping nearly 60% of building projects in Moscow Region under continuous surveillance, spotting violations with impressive precision.

In Moscow Region, a new AI platform called 'Digital Foreman' is now monitoring nearly 60% of all major construction sites. The system uses surveillance camera feeds to analyze activity in real time and can recognize 22 different categories of data with up to 95% accuracy. It even identifies the profession of individuals entering the site and triggers alerts if, for example, a worker is missing a helmet. The AI also instantly detects smoke or other emergency conditions.

But the tech goes beyond safety: it also evaluates construction progress, flags delays, and automatically generates tasks for human inspectors when irregularities are found.

To date, 'Digital Foreman' has identified more than 1,700 violations on construction sites throughout the region. This has dramatically improved response times—from 30 minutes down to just one. As a result, more than 150 projects under AI supervision have been completed on schedule.

Industry experts believe this Russian-developed technology has the potential to be deployed nationwide.
