Russian University Launches AI Course for Future Teachers

Students will learn to harness artificial intelligence for education, from generating unique learning content to navigating ethical and legal issues.

This year, the State Social and Humanities University in Russia has introduced a new special course titled “Artificial Intelligence in Education.” With neural networks rapidly entering classrooms, the program aims to teach future teachers how to use AI responsibly and effectively.

The course covers theoretical foundations, legal and ethical considerations, safe interaction with technology, and practical skills for working with AI-powered services. Students will gain hands-on experience in creating and applying AI tools in an educational setting.

First-year students will learn how to distinguish AI from neural networks, use them to generate educational materials, craft effective prompts, and critically evaluate results. The program also introduces different AI systems and the basics of prompt engineering.

Alongside theory, students will analyze real-world teaching cases and complete independent projects, with neural networks serving as assistants throughout the process.
