Yandex’s AI Platform Is Streamlining Municipal Services Across Russia

Russia’s municipal service fleets are getting a tech upgrade thanks to Yandex’s new AI-driven platform called 'Vector.' The system is currently being piloted in the Moscow region and is already showing significant results—improving route efficiency and reducing operational waste across snowplows, garbage trucks, watering vehicles, and more.

Using Vector, dispatchers can assign tasks directly to drivers via an app, while the AI optimizes the route based on traffic, priority zones, and weather conditions. The system continuously monitors progress, provides real-time guidance, and compiles performance reports for each worker.

Since its winter deployment, the platform has helped cut idle mileage by 17% and boost efficiency by 20% across 31 snowplows. These numbers have prompted experts to suggest expanding Vector to other sectors like construction logistics, cargo transportation, and employee shuttle services.
