MISIS University Launches Program for Small Spacecraft Developers
A professional development program for engineers seeking to develop small spacecraft has been launched on the Open Education platform.

The training is part of the Personnel for Space project and will run for eight weeks. Participants will learn how to design and test instruments and power supply systems for spacecraft and will study materials diagnostics, including perovskites and gallium oxide.
"MISIS University has strong expertise in semiconductor electronics and has ranked first among Russian universities in the RAEX Materials Technology ranking for several years. In 2026, we won the competitive selection held by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the federal Personnel for Space project, and by the end of the year our students will develop instruments for small spacecraft. We are ready to share our knowledge and experience so that the space industry can gain qualified engineers," said project head Sergei Legotin, Candidate of Technical Sciences and associate professor at the Department of Semiconductor Electronics and Semiconductor Physics at MISIS University.
During practical training, participants will learn to use equipment, design 3D models, develop circuitry and software for onboard systems. The program comprises 144 hours, and those who pass the assessment will receive a certificate.
