Russian Bank Builds Digital Ecosystem for Agriculture

The bank is helping farmers not only secure financing but also grow their businesses through online commerce, agritourism, and education.

Rosselkhozbank has built a digital ecosystem designed to support farmers beyond traditional lending, enabling them to expand their businesses through e-commerce, agritourism, and education. The project has already connected millions of buyers with thousands of producers nationwide, according to the press service of the Russian government.

Financial Support and Business Skills

The core of the ecosystem is the Svoe Fermerstvo platform (Own Farming), Russia’s largest agricultural marketplace. Direct-to-consumer sales are handled through Svoe Rodnoe (Own Native), where 14,000 farmers from all regions of the country offer their products to more than one million buyers.

The bank also promotes direct interaction between producers and consumers and organizes food festivals. So far, 3,000 farmers have taken part in these events, which have attracted 1.5 million visitors across 19 regions.

Agritourism has emerged as another growth area for farmers. More than 2,000 tours are listed on the Svoe Za Gorodom (Own Outside the City) platform. The bank estimates that annual agritourism traffic in Russia will exceed 1.5 million visitors within three years.

Education is another priority. Together with the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and regional governments, the bank runs the Shkola Fermera (Farmer’s School) program, which focuses on practical agribusiness skills. Across 12 cohorts in 83 regions, 11,000 participants have completed training in 50 subject areas.

Dialogue With Agricultural Producers

“This is a very important area, where people can easily and calmly take advantage of supply opportunities and find both buyers and suppliers for their products,” Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said. He stressed the need to continue developing infrastructure and maintaining dialogue with agricultural producers.

Earlier, the Geomir Group announced the launch of its digital platform AssistAgro, which analyzes farm data and converts it into ready-made management decisions.
