IT company SimbirSoft has developed a solution that uses augmented reality to support industrial equipment selection.

Customers can place 3D models of equipment into real-world environments using a smartphone or tablet, allowing them to assess dimensions, layout, and placement suitability in production facilities, warehouses, or logistics centers in advance.

“The project was implemented for a B2B service that supplies equipment tailored to specific technical requirements. Following deployment, the time required to approve equipment for purchase dropped by 30%, the number of on-site engineering visits fell by 22%, and the conversion rate from request to commercial proposal increased by 19%,” said Irina Kuptsova, head of backend development at SimbirSoft.

Operational costs at the deal preparation stage also declined by 17%, while the overall sales cycle accelerated by an average of 20%.

Cutting Costs, Delays, and Rework

The new tool is expected to benefit industrial enterprises, warehouses, and logistics centers, where errors during equipment selection can lead to additional costs and delays.

The company added that AR-based visualization improved communication with clients, helping them better understand what they are purchasing.
