Russian Regions Go Smart with “Intelligent Milk” Platform
Yakutia pioneers a digital system that automates the entire dairy production cycle

Russia’s Republic of Yakutia has launched a large-scale digital transformation of its dairy industry. The region is adopting a “smart milk” system — a unified digital platform that manages every stage of production, from raw milk collection to reporting. The initiative aims to modernize local agriculture and demonstrates how technology can strengthen the sector even in harsh northern climates.
The project was presented at a seminar in Yakutsk that gathered more than 130 participants, including factory representatives, farmers, IT specialists, and government officials. The new system fully automates accounting processes that were once handled manually. Now, a single click generates a complete report, making production transparent, cutting costs, and reducing human error, Komsomolskaya Pravda Yakutia reports.
From Farm to Shelf
The uniqueness of the platform lies in its comprehensive design. It already connects 47 enterprises across the region. Since early 2025, new features have been added, including finished goods tracking, integration with federal information systems, and advanced analytics — enabling users to monitor the entire chain from farm to store shelf.
Yakutia’s successful deployment in extreme Arctic conditions shows the model’s potential for replication across other regions of Russia and beyond.
The next step will be integrating the platform with key national systems such as FGIS “VetIS” and 1C:Enterprise, creating a unified digital ecosystem for the country’s dairy industry.
