A nationwide forum, Mentorship: Rethinking Approaches, opened on March 18 at the Moscow Region Government House. One of the standout exhibits is a virtual reality headset designed for future nurses, according to the press service of the Roshal Children’s Center.

Specialists from the center showcased a range of high-tech training systems, including laparoscopic and endoscopic simulators that help doctors refine complex surgical skills. However, one development drew particular attention – VR headsets.

Realistic Clinical Environment

At first glance, VR headsets are nothing new. But these devices immerse users in a realistic clinical environment and allow anyone to try the role of a nurse. Using VR technology, trainees can practice in detail one of the most critical procedures – drawing blood.

In addition, the forum featured a program that teaches how to collect venous blood from peripheral vessels. The course is designed in line with new national standards, ensuring compliance with current medical care requirements.

Earlier, researchers in Russia developed a method to measure blood flow without sensors or wires.
