SGC Completes Installation of Emissions Monitoring System at Belovskaya GRES
The Siberian Generating Company has completed installation of an automated emissions monitoring system on the No. 3 smokestack at Belovskaya GRES.
The measuring module is installed at a height of 85 meters and analyzes the composition of flue gases in real time, the company’s press service said.
The system monitors nitrogen oxide and nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and particulate matter, as well as temperature, pressure, humidity and flow rate. If emissions exceed regulatory limits, the system alerts personnel, allowing them to quickly adjust boiler equipment and reduce environmental risks. The data are processed by a ground-based module.
Installation of the system was completed in August. Next, the project calls for commissioning work, personnel training and pilot operation through mid-November, after which the system is scheduled to enter full-scale operation. Similar systems are scheduled to be installed on the station’s No. 1 and No. 2 smokestacks in 2027, while automatic transmission of the data to Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources) is scheduled to begin in 2028.
Similar monitoring systems are now being tested at Kemerovskaya GRES and Novo-Kemerovskaya CHP Plant, as SGC scales up digital solutions for environmental monitoring across its facilities.
