An innovative augmented reality projector for civil and transport aviation pilots has been unveiled in Russia. The presentation took place at an aircraft exhibition in Moscow. Known as ILS-VR, the system is a key component of a technical vision suite. According to the developer, Rostec, the solution enhances pilots’ situational awareness by projecting navigation and flight data, terrain information, alerts, and warnings onto a semi-transparent display.

Landing in Challenging Conditions

The device can overlay graphics onto live video by integrating with enhanced and synthetic vision systems. The panel provides critical data at night or in poor weather visibility. It also enables aircraft to approach and land at airfields with limited equipment, reducing the need to divert to alternate airports.

The system can be integrated into both Russian-made and foreign aircraft. Rostec says the solution is universal, reliable, and technologically advanced for aviation use.
