Russian Engineers Launch DeepSea — a Full-Cycle Digital Platform for Shipbuilding
From design to launch, the new system connects shipyards, engineers, and clients in one real-time digital environment.
Russian developers from the design bureau Nautic Rus have introduced DeepSea, a digital platform built to transform how ships are designed, constructed, and operated. The company unveiled the technology at the Fish Tech Global roundtable, part of the International Fisheries Forum in St. Petersburg.
According to Yevgeny Voronin, the company’s technical director, DeepSea streamlines every stage of the ship’s lifecycle — from the first design sketch to its deployment at sea.
QR codes for smarter shipyards
One of the system’s standout features is QR-code integration for all ship drawings. Workers can scan a code to verify that they’re using the latest version of a document and instantly view the 3D model of the relevant compartment or system.
DeepSea is already in use at the Otradnoye Shipyard, where it connects designers, builders, and clients through a shared digital workspace. The system, Voronin noted, aims to bring the shipbuilding industry into the era of full digital traceability, where every nut, bolt, and drawing is tracked — and updated — in real time.
